Anonymous DVD (Wurstfilm)

Todd Verow has been in a relationship with John (Dustin Schell) for 5 years. They met when Todd was looking for a roommate and he ended up moving in. They both gave up on their personal dreams a long time ago in order to create a »perfect relationship«. But time and familiarity have taken a toll on them. Todd works in a movie theater at night whilst John works during the day. Todd prowls public bathrooms and the internet looking for anonymous sex. John catches Todd having sex in the bathroom of the movie theater and beats him up and throws him out of the apartment. Todd starts living at the theater until he is fired. Homeless and jobless Todd goes back to John, will he accept him and will their lives ever be the same again? ANONYMOUS is a film that induces a great sense of sadness, but strikes a faintly optimistic note too, coming from the fact that it shows how much depends on one's own attitudes about love, sex and relationships . The dreadful emotional state Todd is in at the end is the result, not of the things happening around him, but of his actions afflicted on the people around him. As gay men, there's a little bit of that main character in all of us and that can be scary to confront on a big screen.
